Our Story

Who we are

Shanghai Chongming Minerals Lao Company Limited is a baryte mining company registered and operating in Lao PDR since April 2014. Our operations are centred at a large-scale baryte deposit in Laos containing 7 massive bed deposits, accessible year-round for all-season mining and trucking.

With over 40 million tons of geological baryte reserves and a rock bed spanning 30 metres wide and 1.7 km long, our mine represents one of the most significant baryte deposits globally. Professional mine design was implemented using MineSight software by qualified mining engineers, and exploration has been carried out by international geologists since 2014.

Today, SCM is recognised as the world's largest supplier of high-quality drilling grade raw baryte minerals, serving major customers across the oil and gas industry worldwide.
